BRAVE
"Searching for the Sun"
Dark Symphonies

The origin of BRAVE can be traced directly to their incarnation Arise From Thorns. Created in 1997 by guitarist Scott Loose and drummer Trevor Schrotz, Arise From Thorns was an attempt to write melodic, atmospheric and diverse music. Shortly thereafter, Scott's music of Arise From Thorns began to take form as the three members wrote and recorded their self-titled debut CD. That same year, the trio was joined by bassist Chris Welborn, noted for his work with the Northern Virginia based band Division. 1999 saw the band enter Neptune Studios to record "Before An Audience of Stars". It was this release that caught the attention of Dark Symphonies.

In January 2001, Dark Symphonies re-released "Before An Audience of Stars" featuring three bonus tracks and new artwork by Mike Riddick (The Soil Bleeds Black). During this time, Arise From Thorns changed their name to Brave in an attempt to distinguish between the origins of the project and the band in its most complete form. Wtih the name change, the music has taken a slightly more progressive direction while retaining the passion and atmosphere of the original material. In March 2001, BRAVE self-released their first four song EP entitled "Waist Deep In Dark Waters". Both the re-release and the EP have received worldwide acclaim, having sold over 6,000 copies to date. With the same line-up still intact, BRAVE entered Assembly LIne Studios from late February to early April 2002 and recorded their debut full length CD entitled "Searching for the Sun". Engineered by Kevin Guitierrez and co -produced by BRAVE, "Searching for the Sun" contains eleven tracks featuring elements of progressive metal, contemporary rock, and pop. The CD was mastered by Bill Wolf Productions in Falls Church, Virginia. "Searching for the Sun " is an hour devoted to the most emotional, powerful, and beautiful music Brave has ever created.
