Another progressive death metal band from Italy? Is there n end to this country's wealth of skilled metal musicians? The land of pasta and the Vatian has already produced such luminaries and Aydra, Ephel Duath, Esicastic, Gory Blister and Thy Nature and now Illogicist must be added to the list. Illogicist can definitely hold their own when it comes to progressive death metal. Illogicist plays a melodic Gothenburg form of technical death metal. The vocals are powerful supported by technical bassdrums frameworks and twin guitar lines. Influences are of course the technical death metal masters such as Cynic, Pestilence or above all Death. Their music is technical yet accessible and heavy yet melodic; a balance that many groups strive for but fail. You have been warned. Keep your eyes open for Illogicist, if their success matches their talent, the band has a very bright future.
