Wishbone Ash
"Bona Fide"
(Dead Ringer Records)

For three decades, Wishbone Ash has retained a stately status as one of the finest bands in a long tradition of successful British rock. And through these years, the band, founded by guitarists Andy Powell and Ted Turner, have yielded much history and many albums, admired by millions the world over. Popular for their unique blend of blues, jazz and English folk, it is arguably the band's celebrated twin guitar attack that brought about much of their early accolades. "Bona Fide" is the first new recording from Wishbone Ash in countless years and one that finds the band partaking in an exciting touring schedule, including visits to England, Germany, France, Italy and America. With the turn of the 70's, founding members Powell and Turner had the distinction of making Rolling Stone magazine's top 20 guitarists of all time list. It was then that the band became renowned as the pioneers of the now distinctive two lead guitar style, influencing the likes of Thin Lizzy and paving the way for Iron Maiden. Globetrotters since the early days, the band have performed around the world, including headlining stints throughout Europe, Japan, the former Soviet Union and remain veterans of many long US tours. The British press crowned them "brightest new hope" and "best new band" in their maiden year of 1972. Since then, numerous musicians have appeared in the band's rank, contributing their talents to an impressive outpouring of material that still finds new fans each and every year. Among the notables, Asia's John Wetton, Uriah Heap's Trevor Bolder and the talented Laurie Wisefield, later guitarist for Joe Cocker and Tina Turner. Wishbone Ash will always hold a seminal place in the halls of rock. With "Bona Fide," their passions, talents and legend continue to shine.
