Formed in 1969, the original four English members united in the unlikely place of Hamburg, Germany. Renowned for their sensational music, likened to Emerson, Lake and Palmer/Yes, the band made their American debut at New York's Academy Of Music in 1974. That night, darkness would fall upon the audience as the strain from the wattage of musical equipment and their spectacular light show blew out the world famous concert hall.

Nektar's recent live reunion as headliner for the annual NEARfest has put this long standing band back in the minds of fans and makes them a front runner in this falls overall re-emphasis on classic rock.
