Silvertide

"American Excess"

(J Records)

by: Paul Autry

Well, maybe they're not living up to the excess yet because there's only three songs on this release. But, this little taste here is enough to make any true rock 'n' roll fan hunger for more. What we have is a band that's got the swagger of Led Zepplin, the groove of the Black Crowes, the sleaze of Aerosmith and the appetite for destruction that Guns 'N' Roses had back when they actually mattered. Okay, yeah, sure, maybe it's not an original style of music. But, I'll be damned if this band didn't bring it up a notch or two. The full length release is gonna be the bomb, there's no question about it. That's when we'll get a real heavy dose of excess...yeah...it's coming, people. It's time for rock 'n' roll music to be sweaty and fun once again and, since we can't count on anyone else to give us what we want, Silvertide's the band that's gonna deliver. I really don't look forward to much. But, I'm really looking forward to their debut full length release. If these three songs are just a small sample of what we're gonna get...damn...that's gonna be a mighty fine album!
