Age of Nemesis"Psychogeist" Age Of Nemesis are a prog-rock band from Hungary. Formed in '97 and releasing a couple early releases in their native tongue and two line-up changes later, AON re-release 'Psychogeist' in English form. The band went by the name Nemesis on their earlier recordings. It seems that members of one of the previous line-ups staked claim to the name. That and there also being 8 or 9 other bands named Nemesis, they were due for a change. 'Psychogeist' was originally released back in '02. Since then they have redone it for the rest of the world to enjoy. Well those of us who speak English. Which seems funny to me. But I've heard that some folks would rather be able to understand the lyrics. Don't get me wrong as I do to but I think I'd like to hear this in it's original form. Anyways, this is a pretty good album. Sorry guys I can't go WOW over it. It is what it is. Prog-rock. Light to middling on a bit heavier sound. These guys are very well rounded and talented musicians and have the style down pat. There's just nothing here that grabs you the listener by the kahoonas and say's ,"hey listen here". The first six tracks are a conceptual piece. Sort of a psycho-thriller if you would. It blends right in to the other five tracks. If you're a fan of the said genre and/or are into the likes of Evergrey, Dream Theater and Symphony X, by all means, check out AON. You shouldn't be disappointed. |
