"Call It What You Want"
(Emanon Records)
by Paul Autry

The last line in the JParis bio goes something like this, "It's a little pop, it's a little punk and a little metal. What more could you possibly need?" Well, you need to have some good tunes. After all, if you suck, nobody's gonna care what style of music you are. Don't you agree? Anyway...suck is one thing JParis doesn't do. In fact, they passed the "unofficial rock test" in my house. You see, this style of music is great. I love stuff like this. What I hate is most of the popular music that tries to sound like this. It sounds fake and forced. I have a young daughter who likes that kind of music. Hey...she's young...she doesn't know any better. Besides, the point is, JParis has the ability to reach us...uh...older fans while maintaining a good connection to a younger audience. I don't know what you believe in. But, even though I'm "older," I still believe that rock 'n' roll is music for young people. That's the audience that any band should aim for because, unlike us "adults," they have a passion for what they're listening to. Not to knock us old people...but...when was the last time you heard an album that was so great, all you did was talk about it, you got every one of your friends to listen to it and now they all like it. We did that back in the day...we're old school. Our children are now doing what we used to do...and JParis is one of the bands that they're gonna be doing it with. I guess the first single from this release is "Here We Go Again," which is cool. Must've been hard to decide what tune to throw out there first because damn near every song on this release would probably do well if it was released as a single. They're all upbeat, catchy as hell, well written and full of energy, which is what makes "Here We Go Again" such a great song. How about a follow up single? Let's see...the choices are endless..."Blue Light Special" is a good choice. "Manic" is another one. You could also go with "Paparazzi," "Until I Die" or "Ghost" as well. I mean, really, from start to finish, "Call It What You Want" is just a great album. You can't go wrong with this one. One listen and I guarantee you're gonna be hooked. Check it out.
