Nasty Savage"Psycho Psycho" Nasty Ronnie and his band of merry Savages are back, as Nasty and Savage as ever! This is their first original release of the new millennium. It's been more than a decade since Nasty Savage's last album. The band made a name for themselves in the 80s as an underground, cult metal band, with a violent, horror show type image, releasing a handful of albums during the decade, on Metal Blade. In the 90s, the band fell through the cracks, but now, as one of the songs on this album is titled, we see the "Return Of The Savage"! "Psycho Psycho" offers twelve Nasty cuts, Ronnie and the boys playing in their classic style; fast, thrashing, aggressive, old school metal in a Slayer-like vein. The Savages crank out the metal full tilt from start to finish, never letting up! Just like back in the day! Ronnie's singing is rough, raw, aggressive, and, well, savage. Guitarists Ben Meyer and David Austin crank out some raging riffs and scorching solos, and bassist Richard Bateman and drummer Curtis Beeson are a hammering rhythm section! The guys rock like there's no tomorrow (or maybe that should be, like it's still yesterday?)! Nasty Savage have stuck with their classic sound, and are still as aggressive and skull-bashing as ever, even after being out of practice for a while. They can give many of today's bands a run for their money! Nice to have 'em back! Hope they stick around for a while! A note for wrestling fans: WWE star Chris Jericho sings backup on a couple of songs. |
