Pain of Salvation"Be" Well I can't put off reviewing this one any longer. Even with many, many listens, I'm a bit lost. Maybe I'm not bright enough to truly grasp the concept of what is on the disk. Musically, there are many different elements touched upon. Metal, folk, gospel and classical. Track two, "Deus Nova" has a heavy progressive Dream Theater feel to it where as track three for example sounds as if it could be a Jethro Tull song. Track four, classical piano/string concerto. There are also many spoken tracks. This is a really deep journey into the realms of how we are connected in life. The whole spectrum. God, faith, science. It's all here. Very thought provoking. Mastermind Daniel Gildenlow states," I consider the story of 'Be' as a kind of modern fairy tale about the genesis of life." I have not had the chance to hear any of the five previous releases from Pain Of Salvation so I can not give any comparison to any earlier material. I know I will be on the hunt for them though. This is very impressive. This is the art of music at it's best. A true vision that can not be described, in just, by the words of a reviewer. This is a journey one must experience for ones self. You'll be entranced. Mesmerized. Stimulated to a new level of thought. http://www.painofsalvation.com |
