Let's begin with this band's vocalist Sativa Novak (who also plays guitar and keyboards). She's a blonde cutie who sounds (and looks) a lot like No Doubt's Gwen Stefani. There is quite a bit of No Doubt influence in this band's music, but Sour is a lot harder. Don't expect this band to try to recreate "Don't Speak", Sour are a hard rocking band who have turned out a album that rocks from start to finish! Their music is a mix of punk, metal, pop, funk, industrial, and techno/electronica. Guitarist D.D. Ehrlich cranks out some hard hitting, powerful guitar riffs, and also takes care of the programming, loops, and blips, giving it that industrial/techno flavor. Sativa has a strong, gutsy, yet smooth, voice, and can really belt 'em out when she wants to! Bassist Clint Yeager and drummer Tom Curry make up a solid rhythm section. There guys (and girl) are a cool, hard rocking band with talent and an original style, and their music has a variety of different flavors. That's something you don't find a lot these days. Just the thing to check out if you're bored with the same old shit. Props to 'em! More bands like this needed to spice up today's stagnant rock scene!
