Hard 20

Don Mancuso

"Red, White & Brew"
by Paul Autry

Damn...listening to this album made me realize that I need to get out more because I haven't had a beer for the past six months. Thick, heavy rock that borders on thrash at times. Has a heavy drinkin' vibe, if you know what I mean. There's a certain style of music that goes well with beer. I can't really describe it. But, this is it. I was gonna compare 'em to Black Label Society. But, I thought that would be too easy. Then I decided to check out their website and, wouldn't you know it, in a review that was written, guess who was mentioned? If you said Black Label Society, you hit the nail right on the head. I guess it's plain to see that I'm not the only one who has an Ozzy Osbourne guitarist on my mind. Having said that, I won't argue with it. Thunderbrew is a bar band, no question about it. When you come home at three in the morning and you're totally sloshed, this is the kind of band you were standin' in front of all night, with one hand around some pretty little lady and the other hand holdin' your beer up high. I don't know what you call it because everyone's different. The term I like to use is good time rock 'n' roll. It's good on CD. But, it's a hell of a lot better in a live setting. You listen to this album and you're gonna feel the need to go out every night. Yes, indeed! Check it out...especially if you're an alcoholic. Gotta love it.
