Having the chance to hear something new in music is a rare treat. Every style has been done before, a million times over. Every style of music that could be combined with something else has been done as well. That's why we have all these different labels that we slap on every new band out of the gate. We can always find something to call 'em, can't we? When it comes to Dog Fashion Disco, I'm sure they'd agree with me on that. But, they certainly wouldn't wanna follow that formula because they've created an album that you can't throw a label on or say, well, they sound like so and so. They're marching to the beat of their own sound and on their latest release, "Committed To A Bright Future," you'll find that their sound has many flavors. But, right when you think you might understand it, they throw something else at you. Sure, they're a rock/metal band at the core, that much is obvious. But, what they throw into that mix is what makes them different. I wouldn't put a lot of brain power into trying to figure out what they're trying to do...or should I say, what they've accomplished here. You're either gonna love this band with a passion or you're gonna hate 'em, it's as simple as that.
