Lana Lane (U.S.) |

Another band that I was looking
forward to their new release is this siren's voice as well as her well-oiled
machine of a band of all-stars. Despite my late bloom of first hearing
them in 2000, I quickly grabbed most of the discography since I'm into
the Gothic, Atmo- spheric type of Progressive Metal in which Lana Lane
is noted for. Erik Norlander and Lana have teamed-up even more on this
one with production chores and the cameo appearances this time include
Mark Boals (ex-Malmsteen vocals), Helge Engelke (Dreamtide and ex-Fair
Warning) and veteran drummer Vinnie Appice. The album is strong vocally
like all their releases and seems to have a more serious songwriting approach
and not as heavy as the predecessors but still has some consistency in
more of a "Queen Of The Ocean" style. Alot of atmosphere with some heavy
rhythm sections (I think there's more on "..Astrology"), piano, synths
and more melodic material. A good album to chill out to and gives me the
same satisfaction in a mellow sense like Heart did for me in the 80's.
This CD contains a bonus track from the "Secrets Of Astrology" studio
sessions called "Romeo and Juliet"; very good stuff. www.limb-music.de
