Slick Idiot"DickNity" Devised by former KMFDM members, En Esch and Guenter Schultz, Slick Idiot rose forth from KMFDM's breakup like the Phoenix from the ashes. Influence and experience from KMFDM is evident in this 12-song CD, but as Slick Idiot, a newer, funkier, glam and techno-ish hybrid was born. Augmenting Slick Idiot is the lovely and talented Mel on backing vocals, and Mike on drums. Released on Cleopatra Records, one of the most gratifying aspects of the songs on DickNity is how each has it's own unique feel. Highlights include the enchanting "Naomi," "It Won't Do" that is impossible to listen to without dancing, and the dark and powerful "Make Me Believe." Though theirs is a sound that combines several different genres into one, Slick Idiot caters to a pretty specific niche of closely related musical genres. They do it well, however. DickNity's collection offers an array of aural pleasures to its listeners. |
