Iron Maiden

"The Essential Iron Maiden"
(Sanctuary Records)
by John Haseltine

Well they've done it again. In my eyes, one of the greatest hard rock/metal bands on the planet, Iron Maiden give unto you, yet another greatest hits disk. Are there enough of these out there? They have got the niche in marketing. I mean they put out a live album one year, a dvd the next year, a greatest hit's the next year and then, maybe if we're lucky we get a new album. How many of the same greatest hits, best of or essentials do we actually need? Dumb ass that I am, as with many of you out there, will in fact go and buy this just because it's Iron Maiden. Have any of you even opened "Edward The Great" ? Me either. And be prepared for yet another double live disk and DVD for "Death On The Road" coming this fall. Yes another one. I'm not downing the boys as they are truly my favorite. Just think all these greatest hits and live albums every year are a little too much. Oh well, just have to go buy another one. All the tracks on this double released are the originals as they were released from years past. Great release for the wannabe fan that does not have any of their albums. And another filler for the fans collection with a few new photos. Track listing is as follows:
