Bif Naked

"Purge"

(Her Royal Majesty's)

by: Wayne Klinger

Before I sat down to this release, I gave Bif Naked's debut release a spin because that album made such an impression on me and I wanted to see how she went from that release to this one. There was a great improvement, that's for sure...and she was a great artist to begin with. This is a strong, rock 'n' roll album, there's no doubt about that. Bif Naked is in complete control of her musical creations. I wonder if she's into Joan Jett because that's who came to mind as I sat here watching the video for "I Love Myself Today," which was included on the disc. "Tango Shoes" is also featured on here in video form, which was cool. I'm glad my computer was up to date enough for me to watch 'em. Anyway, as I went through the rest of the album, there was a lot of material to choose from. Bif gives us a lot of variety, which is something I appreciate. I don't like to sit here and listen to an album where every song sounds the same. It's been a long time since rock 'n' roll had a good, strong female standing in the spotlight and I feel Bif Naked is coming up strong in that respect. In fact, I'd say she's in second place with Doro Pesch being number one. "Purge" is a very good album from a very good artist...pick it up and I promise you one thing...you won't be disappointed! http://www.heroyalmajestysrecords.com
