Magellan

"Hundred Year Flood"

(Magna Carta)

by: Paul Autry

This three song release is a rather personal album for Trent Gardner because it's based around his brother, who was killed during the Vietnam war. It's a progressive album that goes into a wide variety of musical styles. Now, I can sit here and think of all kinds of words to use to describe this album. But, nothing I would say would do it justice. It's got a huge sound that washes over you. It's just an amazing release and that's all there is to it. The running time is just under an hour and there's so much music to sink your teeth into. It starts off with what I would describe as barbershop music, there's some piano next and, from there, we get into some heavy progressive music. You really have to hear it for yourself in order to appreciate it. Plus, there's some well respected musicians on here...Wayne Gardner, Joe Franco, Ian Anderson, Tony Levin, George Bellas and Robert Berry. So, you know, with a line up like that, it's bound to be a spectacular release and, yes, that's exactly what it is. Yet another fine release from Magna Carta that should be added to your collection! http://www.magnacarta.net
