Kittie"Until The End" I'm not a huge fan of really brutal music. However, when it comes to Kittie, they're the exception and, truth be told, "Until The End" is the best album of their career. They take the beauty of "Spit" and the heaviness of "Oracle," they throw it together to crank out a strong, well balanced album. Some people would call 'em a death metal band, which, to a certain degree, they are. I mean, they certainly have that element in their music. Although I happen to think they take a fresh approach to that style of music, which I can appreciate because I really hate death metal. When Morgan does the death scream vocal style, it's brutal, yet, you can still understand what she's saying, which is always a plus in my book. She also does a lot of "clean singing," which is another plus in my book because Morgan has a really nice voice. Best track to hear it would be "In Dreams" and, if you simply want brutal, "Look So Pretty" will do the trick. I like the tunes where both vocal styles are used, such as "Into The Darkness." Some of the other stand out tracks, besides the ones I already mentioned, include "Career Suicide," "Sugar," the title track and "Daughters Down." If you're a long time fan, you should already have this release in your collection. If you're new to the music of Kittie, maybe you heard of 'em and you just haven't gotten around to giving them a listen yet, well, this is the album to start with. Pick it up at any cost and prepare to be impressed! |
