For a town that does not get it’s fair share of heavy shows, when one rolls through, they’re usually a duesy. Twelve Tribes starts things out, hopping and heavy. They got about a thirty minute set which included a couple songs titled, ’Venus Complex and Train Bridge’. well I do believe those were the titles. This was my first encounter of Twelve Tribes. So my apologies on this subject. They put out a kick ass effort to get the crowd rolling.

Next up we welcome back to the fold, Crisis. Their set left some in amazement. As I’m sure if you have ever witnessed the dynamic performance of this band, you already know what I’m talking about. They shredded it up for about a half hour as well with songs from their discography. ’Rotten Away, Mechanical Man and Nomad’, as well as a couple others. Definitely not enough time on stage. You need to go check them out. If you missed this round, don’t worry, they will be back through the states with Otep and Kittle later this year.

As for Ill Nino, what I got to see was good. They have been through a couple of times in the past year with other acts, and the crowd perceives them well. I had some troubles with the fine security of the establishment due to the fact that Soulfly had filmed a DVD of this tour, and were not allowing cameras in the building. So it was an argument in order to get back in after they had already let me in once with it. Sorry to Ill Nino for missing pretty much all their set. The two songs I saw were of high energy and the crowd was slamming and flailing about madly.

Soulfly. What’s to say? Have you ever seen Soulfly? Yea, amazing. Max and Co. tore the shit out of the place. They played for a little over an hour. Reminiscing off all the albums. Songs included , ‘Prophecy, Jump The Fuck Up, Eye For An Eye, Back To The Primitive, Downstroy’, and others. As well as ‘Arise’ from the Sepultura days and a cover of ‘Black Sabbath’. The Drum brigade on the 55-gallon barrels was cool. Not as elaborate as the display I remember from the last tour, but still cool. Very cool show. Well I’d hate to say anymore and spoil the DVD for you, so I’ll leave it at that. An amazingly heavy set from one of the masters.
