Anne Leighton "Using Your Art & The Media To Comfort People"by Paul Autry It took me about half an hour to get through this book. So, it's safe to say that it's a quick read. However, it does have a strong message and I believe the title says it all, "Using Your Art & The Media To Comfort People." That's what it's all about right there. We live in a rather negative world and, if you don't believe me, watch the news once in awhile. The focus always seems to be on something bad or negative. What Anne Leighton tries to do here is to take that energy and turn it into something positive. Do what you do, be it write, draw, paint, perform, whatever, but, do it to influence people in a positive way. I'd say it's a self help/advice/opinion kind of book. It's easy to read, it's set up rather nicely and it makes a very good point. Anne's been involved in the media long enough to know what she's talking about and her opinion is one that I value and respect and, to be honest with you, I can't say that about too many people and, to be honest with you again, I don't say that about too many people. So, if you're creative in any way, shape or form, you might wanna check this out. It might influence you in a positive way and that would be a good thing. |
