No matter where you go,
I'm sure you're able to find a free music publication lying around somewhere.
They're not hard to find because every state has 'em. If there's a local
music scene, there's a local music magazine that will tell you about
it.
Keeper Magazine can be found in Southern California and it seems to
cover the heavy music scene. The issue I have before me features In
Flames, Cattle Decapitation, Vader, Hed (pe) and Danzig to name a few.
There's CD and DVD reviews and even an article by porn/rock legend Matt
Zane. It's a very professional publication and even though I'm not into
most of the music they choose to cover, I find myself wondering why
Keeper is limited to the Southern California area. This magazine could
easily pass for a national publication and if that's the direction they
decide to go it, I'm sure they'll be rather successful with it. If not,
well, those of you in Southern California should have no problem seeking
it out, which I'm sure you'll do. I did notice an ad for subscriptions.
So, if you like what you see, you can send in your money and get them
mailed to you, which is always a good thing.
I counted 15 people on the staff page and it's clear that these people
are into what they're doing. That's probably why the magazine has such
a professional look and feel to it. Well worth looking into if you're
into the style of music they cover and, yes, they even have a web page.
