POWER PACKER #3

By Paul Autry

Featuring Domine, Avidost, Wolf, Persephone's Dream, Mad Crusade and more. A 30 page, xeroxed fanzine with a focus on power and doom metal. Good layout, good print quality. It's got the underground attitude, which is to do things the way you wanna do 'em and that's the best way to be. I've said this before...numerous times...and I'll say it again...the printed fanzine is where it's at. I like something that I can order (if it's through the mail) or take home (if it's something I can pick up in a club). On page 28, it seems as if the editor of this publication shares this view of mine because of the line, "Written fanzines are a dying breed? HOG-WASH!" Yeah, they're out there because people still care enough to spend the time, effort and money into putting them together. You just have to know where to look. For your metal needs, Power Packer is a good place to start. It's a focused effort and it's obvious that the editor has a love for the style of music that's being written about. Well worth checking out if I do say so myself!
