Loud 'N' Nasty

A BallBuster Conversation

by Freddy Metal

LOUD'N'NASTY released their 1st independent CD "I wanna live my life in the fame" in spring of 2000. Shows follow including everything from pyrotechnics, girls and more. Next came the 6 track 12" picture-disc Hellbound in 2001 which gather many rave reviews & shows to follow though 2002. In 2003 LOUD'N'NASTY returned to the studio and recorded 11 Ball-Busting tracks for the new CD "Teaser, Teaser". & signed with Perris records!

How do you feel "Teaser, Teaser" compare's to your previous releases such as "I Wanna Live My Life In The Fame"?

Well it's pretty much the same as our earlier releases except for the sound that is a lot more mature on Teaser, Teaser. We wanted it bigger louder and nastier this time and that's the way we got it!

What's you take on being compared with bands from the 80's ?

We have always being compared with bands from the 80's. We listen to lots of those bands and we don't have anything against being put side by side with those great bands. That's the music we grow up to and that's the music we like, so we're not gonna make it sound new just to fit today's radio. We will always sound LOUD'N'NASTY and if people associate us with the heroes from the 80's fine, better than being compared with todays assholes (laughs!).

How did your deal with Perris come together?

We got our CD "I wanna live my life in the fame" distributed on Perris and it worked out fine. So when it was time for "Teaser, Teaser" we got in contact with Perris to talk about distribution, and we where offered to sign a worldwide contract with Perris and so we did. They have always been there for the glam/sleaze even when the ship where down, that means allot.

"Teaser, Teaser" sounds great! Can you give us the scoop as to who produce & where the production took place?

Yeah, we really like the sound on "Teaser, Teaser" it's produced by LOUD'N'NASTY with help from Pontus Lindmark and Anders "Theo" Thenander at Roastinghouse Malmö, where the CD also where mixed. We also did all drumrecordings at Roastinghouse recording studio. Everything except for the drums where recorded in or own Hellbound Recording studio.

Did all members contribute to the writing & arrangements of Teaser?

Me (Rob) and Chris did most of the stuff on "Teaser, Teaser "

What's the band's long & short term goals as far as touring, recording, etc..?

We hope to go on tour here in Sweden, Norway and Denmark to start with. But we also hope to go on tour outside of Scandinavia, maybe as an opening act for some other band in our genre. We already have some new songs we're working on so we will probably do some recordings this fall.

Are you happy with where the band stands today in the Int'l underground Hard music scene?

We're happy where we are today cause things are going great! But we're not completely satisfied until we make it big time!

What do you feel sets Loud 'N' Nasty apart from other Sleeze Metal Acts?

I don't know? We're just LOUD'N'NASTY and we don't think that much about trying to do something new, we just do what we like and try to have a good time doing it. There are always people looking down on us for doing stuff that many bands have done before us, but we don't care cause we like it that way and most of the people that come to our shows like it that way too.

So what do you guys do when your not making music?

Ha, ha Chris is selling liquor, and I got my tattoo studio and the third guy got this Swedish massage thing I think? (Laughs)

As far as the Nasty fans go, how would you describe them?

They are the best! There are boys and girls in various ages, and we got those crazy ones who got the LOUD'N'NASTY logo tattooed by me! They also started the Nasty Club!

How about the low-down such as how you guys formed the band & how long you have been together?

I was working on some songs and asked if Chris would like to help me record them in 1998 and LOUD'N'NASTY was formed. We recorded the first promo CD-R with 12 songs and it got great reviews, so we decided to have a third member joining the band. We did one more promo CD-R single "Sweet Sixteen" in the same year and then our first full length independently released CD "I wanna live my life in the fame". Then we did an Independent EP12" Picture-disc "Too much ain't enough" before signing with Perris Records in the end of 2003 for the release of "Teaser, Teaser"

What is the most outrageous thing that ever happened to you on stage during a performance or rehersel?

We got a show in a small club with a really small stage! We did some songs and I start banging my head, but what I did not se was Chris guitar neck, so my hair got stuck in his strings! It took some time to get it all out I can tell ya! Man I felt stupid! Later that same show there where a fight and people fell all over the stage and we had to take a break.

What can fans expect to see at a live show?

It often depends on what kind of place we're playing at. When we're on the bigger stages we always try to have lots of pyrotechnics, girls, and more girls. On the "I wanna live" show we got two nurses killing me with a power saw, and blood got everywhere! We hope to do more crazy stuff on this tour. We always try to give the fans a great show to make it worth the money they spend on our merchandise and us. We always got some giveaways thrown to the audience.

Who would you like to tour with and why?

There are many band we would like to tour with. It's fun to play with our friends bands here from Sweden like Paradice, Crash Diet, and the girls in Crusified Barbara. But it would be fun to go on tour with bands that we grow up listen to, bands like Pretty boy floyd, W.A.S.P, Ratt or Crue would be nice.

Do you have a special ritual that you guys do before you hit the stage?

We all shout "kom igen nu för fan!!!" (Swedish) and we all clap our hands like the three musketeers (Laughs)

When can we expect to see you on the road?

We're gonna so on tour here in Sweden, Norway and Denmark sometime in May/June and we hope to get in contact with some promoters and booking agencies so we can tour over seas as well but that will probably not happened before this fall.

Last Lick?

See you all out there, we're gonna rock and you're gonna party!
