Papa Roach I like to see a DVD that's loaded with bonus features as much as the next guy. But, sometimes, more doesn't always mean better. If you make the most of what you've got, you can entertain your audience and keep 'em happy. On "Live & Murderous In Chicago," that's exactly what Papa Roach does. There's not a whole hell of a lot to talk about when it comes to this release. The main program is a brilliant concert performance. The only thing better than watchin' this gig in the privacy of your own home would have been if you had been at the show yourself. That would have been a great experience because Papa Roach has a great onstage personality and the way they attack each song, it's like these fuckers got zapped with some serious high voltage. The fuckin' power company doesn't pump out this much energy....and the way they work the crowd with it is amazing. They do their best to make that connection to the people who come to see 'em...believe me, it shows. A lot of DVD's have features that bother me. Since I never mentioned it before, I'm gonna use this release to bitch about 'em. The first additional feature here is a picture gallery which, for me, isn't all that impressive. I mean, really, what's the point of looking at pictures on your television screen? I never understood that. If you could download the pictures on to your computer, that would be a different story. But, to sit there and flip through 'em with the remote...boring. The other feature is a "hidden easter egg," which is something else that does nothing for me. What's the point of making people search for hidden footage or whatever it is you decide to hide...fun? If you wanna have fun, play a board game. It's a DVD, not a fuckin' treasure map. So, I have no idea what else is on this DVD and I'm not gonna spend any time trying to find it. I'd rather spend my time watchin' the video for "Last Resort," which is included on this release. Once I'm done with that one, I'll flip through the other six videos that are included here. They would be...in case you're interested..."Broken Home," "Between Angels & Insects," "She Loves Me Not," "Time & Time Again," "Getting Away With Murder" and "Scars." A must have for even the most casual Papa Roach fan. |
