Armia Armia is a Polish rock band with a musical style that could best be described as a meeting of progressive rock and heavy metal. On this release, the band does a performance that's based on Dante's Divine Comedy. It's like a stage play combined with a music video, something you could picture someone like King Diamond doing. It was rather interesting to watch. But, the lack of the English language made me hit the fast forward button in order to get through it faster. I've got nothing against another language. I just can't watch something I don't understand and I'm not one for having to read the television. If I wanted to read, I'd pick up a book. So, I would assume this release would find an audience with people who are familiar with the band. I can't honestly see it reaching a whole new audience unless, of course, there's some people out there who would be interested in seeing a visual/musical version of Dante's Divine Comedy and I'm sure there's people who would check it out for that, not because they know the band or anything. It's got a running time of 110 minutes and it was put together rather well. The also a few bonus features which might make for a more interesting viewing. Two video clips, an interview, band bio, discography, desktop images, weblinks...the usual stuff. That's pretty much all I've got to say on the subject. I may watch this at least one more time. But, after that, I doubt I'll ever watch it again. http://www.metalopolis.pl |
