Spiders & Snakes The DVD that comes with the CD is like a Spiders And Snakes history lesson. It features fifteen video clips, spanning the band's entire career, as well as several interviews and a picture gallery. First the videos...they feature hard rocking songs like "Take What You Can Get", "Non Stop Rock" (originally a London tune, I believe), "These Are The Good Times", "Elvis's TV", "Nuke The Sun"; poppier songs like "LA Jets", "Roller Coaster Ride" (an unplugged version of this song is also featured), and "Glamour Girls"; the ballad "Lost For Words" (there is also a Spanish version of this song featured); and covers of the Sweet classic "Little Willie" and Motley Crue's "Public Enemy #1" (which was actually written by Lizzie Grey). There is one other unplugged song featured, "Chasing A Rainbow". Most of these videos look very amateurish, and like they were filmed with a camcorder, and the sound quality is not good on a few of them, but it is still enjoyable to watch. In most of them, the band is dressed in their finest glitter garb, and is rocking out on stage in Hollywood clubs, sometimes joined by some rock babes. This is a trip down memory lane to the 80s Sunset Strip/hair metal scene. Interviews included are one by none other than porn star Jasmine St. Claire, where the guys go into an in-depth history of the Spiders, starting with London up to the present, and a hilarious skit with Wally George, where he goes on a "political" tirade, "trashing" the band. The photo gallery includes many cool pictures, from the band's beginning up to the present, including pictures of them with many celebrities, such as the aforementioned St. Claire, Jay Leno, Alyssa Milano, and Cheap Trick's Bun E. Carlos. This CD/DVD should be a treat for fans of glam and the 80s. |
