The Interview

Paul Autry: How would you describe your musical style?

Deceivers: Basically we play heavy metal with many many influences. We think music is fusion. Fusion of many different styles and influences. We like many things and we could not designate our style by a determined one. So we like to play what we play... loud, fast and extreme.

Paul Autry: What are some of your musical influences?

Deceivers: Everybody in the band listens to different things. So we have traditional heavy metal, hip hop, hardcore, death and thrash metal influences... we have even world music influences: our drummer loves to listen to different kinds of music.

Paul Autry: When it comes to your lyrics...what kind of topics do you choose to write about?

Deceivers: We don't talk about any specific or pre-determined subject. Our lyrics are about thigs we feel, like or dislike when we're writting them. That's the way we like to do it.

Paul Autry: What's the music scene like in your area?

Deceivers: It's not the way we'd like it to be yet, but this market is in expansion and kids are on the right way. Many bands are being formed everyday and we have received many bands from other countries. Brazil showed all those years that has a great Metal potential such as Angra, Sepultura and Krisiun that made themselves known in the whole world. They walked through a hard path with strength and honesty. We dream of being a band like them.

Paul Autry: How would you describe your live show?

We believe that a band has the opportunity of showing its power in gigs, and not only in a good production album. So we make it as heavy as possible in our gigs. No doubt that big and small crowds are always wonderful. When we play somewhere that our music is being appreciated, we realize that this is the reason to play. This is our satisfaction.

Paul Autry: What do you hope to accomplish as a band?

Deceivers: We believe in our potential and we will make the band dream come true: to live as musicians, play wherever it's possible and take our work wherever it's being apreciated.

Paul Autry: Final comments?

We'd like to thank you for all the support given all this time. We're preparing ourselves to produce our second release "Everbreathe". Please visit our new web site and come see what we have to offer.
