"THIS IS INSANE, I LOVE THIS!" - FLY BY WIREby Don Sill Fly By Wire, a five Piece screamo band out of Huntington, earned their rock 'n roll bones by playing the church circuit…yes that's right, the church circuit. "We're not a Christian band," confessed guitarist, Vincent Morello, with a laugh, "It's just that those were the only places we could get into for a while." At only 15 and 16 years old all of the band members are sophomores in high school. (half in Huntington high school and the other half in Saint Anthony's High) and as a new band they had a tough time finding venues to perform at. No worries, at such a young age these rockers have time as well as God on their side and they are loving every minute of it. "What kid wouldn't want to do what we're doing?" questioned singer, Gabe Perez for he and his mates- Tom Barraco-Drums; Lars Bengston-Bass and guitarists Shane Klein and Vincent Morello- are living every teenaged boys fantasy. "I mean this is insane, I love this." Working the church circuit began when friends of the band would invite them to perform at fund raisers and charity events at their local churches. The band jumped at the chance to play and thus word of Fly By Wire's rocking church shows began to buzz. "We take what we can get," admits Perez, "So if we can play a church show then we'll play a church show. We play high schools and we play all over…but we are kinda heavy with the church's." Playing the church circuit proved to be the right thing to do for Fly By Wire earned a solid fan base throughout Long Island and are currently winning over a legion of fans with their intense performances. "We always put on a good show live," says Morello, "Crowd response is always good and we just get more pumped as the crowd rocks out." With their fierce performances and emo/punk vibe Fly By Wire get the crowd into a frenzy as they feed off the immense energy in the room. "Sure, there's always gonna be that one show where you know you gotta get up there in front of a hard crowd to play for," says Klein. "But we're the band that, even know we may not be what the kids want to dance to, they'll still stand there and listen, nod their heads and rock out."
