Introduce the Cipressi line up to our readers?

Cipressi is actually Danny Cipressi Jr. from Philadelphia. His band is currently a group of musicians used in the studio and on stage.

How long has the band been in existence?

Cipressi has been around for 2 years.

In your own words describe Cipressi the band's sound and influences?

Cipressi's sound is rooted in hard rock and blues with my influences ranging from the Cult, Aerosmith, Zepplin, to Alice in Chains, STP, and U2.

Who does the song writing of the group or is it shared by all members?

I am the primary song writer at the moment, but plan to make the next cd a lot more collaborative. I love working with other song writers, it opens up my idea train for better tunes in the end.

Name some bands in which you shared the stage and opened?

Cipressi has not opened for any big names yet, but we have shared the stage with several up and coming bands who are also working with labels such as Sony and Tommy Mattoala, Capital, EMI and Sub-Pop. We've all become friends and continue to network and perform together from stage to studio.

Where and what studio did the production take place of the 3 track Cipressi cd?

It was recorded at Ground Control Studios in Philadelphia, PA.

What is the current scene like in your local area and how does Cipressi fit in?

The scene is popping with a lot of fresh new talent with quite a bit of old school flavors coming out and the newer music. Cipressi fits in well because we like meshing old and new to create a fresh, better sound.

Whats the bands long and short term goals as far as touring, recording, writing, etc?

Cipressi's short term goal is to release a new cd come fall with a new edgy sound and tour on that cd. The tenative title for the new cd is Bone Dry. My long term goal is to stay a strong, creative, influecial force in the music industry.

What would you say is your biggest gripe about the music industry?

Cookie cutter bands sounds and images.........Ew Yuck! Where has individuality gone. Oh yes, and real singers, the one's who can hit notes not just scream and yell.

Any label interest?

Oh Yes, from L.A. to Nashville to Canadian labels.

What CD will we find in your disc player this time?

The Cult - Beyond Good and Evil, Audio Slave, Foo Fighters - One by One, and Aerosmith.

Parting shot?

Keeping your mind open keeps your future open to being successful and progressive.
