EMANUELE:
When did you start to play?
ANTONELLO:
Thanks to my initiative (Antonello) and the bass player Carmelo, the group Orion Riders was formed in May 1997. Soon after, the drummer Antonio, the guitarist Davide and the vocalist Vincenzo joined the band. We started to play in many places in our country and at the same time we worked to launch out our first Demo-CD.
EMANUELE:
I know about line-up changes in these four years of activity...
ANTONELLO:
After the release of a demo-tape in September 1999, the rhythmic guitarist Davide Arcifa was replaced by Riccardo Failla. Owing to that the sound of the band is now a true twin guitar works. But this change has not moved our sound from the original Orion Riders' style!
EMANUELE:
Please, talk about "Brothers Of Another Time" CD...
ANTONELLO:
In January 1999 we recorded our first CD "Brothers..." with a very low budget... As a matter of fact the mix is quite inadequate. In spite of these problems it has been strongly reviewed by national and international reviews (among others France, Greece, Spain, Belgium and Germany). The ideas and the technique of Orion Riders are very good. What we need is a good contract!
EMANUELE:
What's about the sound of "Brothers..."?
ANTONELLO:
The sound is very well structured... In our music we reflect the typical crunch of German power metal coupled by tight bass and an unstoppable guitar-playing. All that makes the pieces always different. Trumpets, violins, Harpsichords, timbals and perfect orchestral parts make the Orion Riders' sound very interesting. The trumpets in "Light And Dark" and the violins in "Place In Heaven" succeed in giving to the tracks that symphonic feeling representing the mood of whole CD...
EMANUELE:
The present and the future for Orion Riders...
ANTONELLO:
In September 1999 we began to promote our CD in all the world. Our manager Emanuele Gentile has made a good promotion of our product. We received many proposals of contract but we want to make the best choice possible. Awaiting a serious contract, we are working to realize a new Demo-CD. The new work will be ready in the next weeks. It will contains four tracks, the sound is better first, the songs are very interesting... We'll send you the CD when it will be ready! I'm sure that you'll like it! It features three symphonic power metal songs plus a quite particular ballad. You need to listen!
EMANUELE:
I want to talk with lead-singer Vincenzo, what's about your technique and your song-writing?
ANTONELLO:
I sing since I've been 13 years old... I sung with many bands but now I am the singer of Orion Riders! I love singers as Rob Halford, Michael Kiske, Geoff Tate, Bruce Dickinson. I think that now there are lotsa of good singers as James LaBrie (Dream Theater), Russell Allen (Symphony X), Andre Matos (Angra). I wrote the lyrics of "Brothers...". They are very particular, they contain many thoughts and reflections that Orion Riders propose to the all defenders of world: "...BROTHERS OF ANOTHER TIME LEFT THE BAD TIME BEHIND/ SEE HOW THE BLUE SKY SHOW THE NEW RAINBOW'S LIGHT..."
EMANUELE:
Would you want to have a place in Heaven?
ANTONELLO:
Would you give up the pleasures of life to secure a Place in Heaven? I don't think...
EMANUELE:
Any remark about your live experiences?
ANTONELLO:
Our music is very difficult to offer in a concert without a big organization (maybe money?), but we have good feedbacks thanks to our experience. We use a sequencer for the orchestral parts and that's a matter has helped a lot our live-sound. We played in many places in Sicily (our country) and in this period we are searching to find another places in Italy and everywhere in Europe to play our music!
